What Role if any, does ethics play in the world of sports and athletic competition? Merriam-Webster dictionary defines integrity as â€Å"the quality of being honest and fair† (Merriam-Webster, 2016), so what does it mean to have integrity in athletics? My response to this question before and after doing my research on the topic turned out to be the same because I believe sports are one of the true level playing fields that are offered in life. I say this because the world of sports and athletics doesn’t care where you come from, how much money you have or who your parents are. All of these factors contribute to your makeup as an individual and may influence how well equipped you are to play a game meaning, your environment could supply you with the tools and gear to be successful but at the end of the day it all comes down to athletes ability to play the game and also how hard he works to become better his or her craft. many of us have stressors that weigh us down so much in the real world and influence what we are able to do like social-economic pro blems and personal issues in relationships or work.
